What is permanent makeup? Permanent makeup is used to model eyebrows, filling or correcting lips, applying eyeliner, both below and above the eye. When doing sports, when on holiday emerging from the sea or the swimming pool, when you get out of bed in the morning or when you are outside all day long: Your permanent makeup will always remain perfectly in place!

Who? – For those who wear glasses and have problems when applying make-up - for those who lack a sufficiently firm hand for precise makeup application - for those who have thin lips or lips with vague outlines - for those who have little or no eyebrows (anymore) - for those who suffer from hair loss. - For those with little time, to shorten make-up time – for those who always want to look perfect. – For those who do a lot of sports and still want to look perfect after all - because it is entirely safe, this method is suitable for everyone, even for those with sensitive or allergic skin. - In short, for everyone that wants to look great at all times.

What does a treatment entail? Prior to treatment, you agree together with your therapist on the right color. If necessary or desired, the outline is first drawn on your skin with regular make-up. After the skin is numbed with a cream, the pigmentation begins: permanent make-up is achieved by means of an ultra-thin needle which quickly pierces the skin and applies a special liquid. Please note that immediately after the pigmentation the color will seem darker because the right color has yet to develop. After one week the skin is healed and the scabs (no scratching!) disappear, the color has now reached the right shade.

Where is permanent makeup applied?

Lipliner: You can choose just a lip liner in a color of your choice, but also a natural lipcolor which matches that of your own lips, resulting in a beautiful full lips, even without lipstick. - Complementing lip contours or enhancing your lips with a colour – reshaping uneven lips to make them look symmetrical.

Eyebrows: Sparse and / or irregular eyebrows can be adjusted with permanent makeup to a smooth create an even brow line. - Complementing eyebrows - camouflaging scars

Eyeliner: Eyelids and eyelashes make the eyes stand out. With permanent make-up, the appearance of the eyes can be altered and embellished. The space in between the lashes is pigmented with eyeliner. Your lashes will appear to be thicker.  It guarantees beautiful eyes, without having to worry about worn makeup.

Can I use permanent make up to enhance my lips? When drawing a line against the actual lip line, this will make the lips look slightly larger. But there are limits. Especially if you have your lips filled with a nice fresh colour, this can create the effect that the lips are fuller and more rounded.

What is the durability? Permanent makeup has a durability of 3 to 5 years. Then the makeup fades. This is due to natural cell renewal, to the immune system and the influence of UV light. The durability depends from person to person.

How many treatments are needed? In most cases only one treatment is needed. If the result is not satisfactory, then a second treatment may be required. Only one course of treatment is charged.

Is the treatment painful? Permanent makeup is certainly not completely painless, but thanks to the latest methods in anesthetic creams and liquids, discomfort is reduced to a minimum.

Is the treatment safe? The treatment is absolutely safe. With each new treatment, new sterile needles and needle caps are used to ensure sterility and hygiene.

Is after care necessary? After the treatment, at the institute a gentle healing cream is applied. Repeating this regularly at home will make the skin heal faster. Until healing has occurred (5 to 7 days), you may NOT clean the pigmented area with soap, shampoo or cleanser. During the first week, it is best to avoid the sun as well.

Is the treatment permanent? Should you feel the need to remove or change the applied pigmentation over time, then this is possible.

What is the difference with a tattoo? The result (look) is the same. However, with permanent make-up the needles prevent that the pigment is inserted deep into the skin. This way permanent makeup fades after a few years. With a tattoo the pigment is applied to the deeper skin layers. The pigment accumulates in the subcutaneous adipose tissue. This avoids fading of the pigment.

Is the use of medication allowed? Medications can affect the treatment and the end result. It is recommended to avoid taking blood thinners (eg aspirin, Aspégic, sedergine ...) 24 hours before treatment and up to 4 hours after treatment. Painkillers with acetaminophen (paracetamol, Perdolan, Panadol ...) are allowed. Medications for acne (eg Accutane) or eczema make the skin thinner, so please finish that treatment course before starting pigmentation!

Is permanent make-up suitable for diabetics? In this case, permanent make-up is not recommended. There is a risk of poor wound healing. It is also known that after some time, color differences may occur.

Can I drink alcohol before treatment? At least 24 hours prior to treatment you should not drink alcohol. Alcohol makes the blood thinner, making it less suitable for pigment adheration.

Is permanent make-up suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding? Research has shown that anesthetics may be absorbed by the fetal blood. Please avoid taking risks, and wait until after pregnancy and lactation.
